Seeing Beyond the Stress: How to Shift Focus and Recognise the Good

When we fixate we shut out many areas that are also going on at the same time.

Usually, there are many things happening that are excellent during the stressful moment.  If we get too immersed in the problem the brain can shut out the good stuff, and find itself in the illusion that everything is crap even though it’s only one thing.

The good news is when we understand this we can deal with the problem and be aware of the overall well-being of our lives at the same time.

The strategy is, when we are drawn into a drama, look up and around and notice the sky, the view, the bigger picture, and recognise the things that are good.

This will refire the brain to take a picture of what is clear and real and, of course this calms the feelings. So we can begin to relax and know that even though there is a challenge, there is more good than not good.
